While it may or may not be a debate about citizens rights it is absolutely a debate about business rights, and whether the government has the right to initiate a change, that while it may not be the 20% loss of business (in a state with 15% smoker populace), should still be the owner of the establishments decision. With this next, how many more will be left unemployed or forced to close down?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33937249.post-1168578133317054572007-01-11T22:02:00.000-07:002007-01-11T22:02:00.000-07:00Hi Mr PriceThanks for the comment. Mr Boortz is a great talk show host who claims to be libertarian. The truth of the matter is he has many libertarian views, but he is not a full metal libertarian. I too am not full libertarian. I have a problem with the abortion issue. Libertarians believe in the right to choose. At the same time they believe all innocent humans have a right to Life, Liberty, Property, and pursuit of happiness. My question to libertarians is "when do you apply these right to a human?" I strongly believe these rights should be applied at conception. That said, I am still very much a libertarian because I believe in smaller government and much more freedom. The views of many libertarians may differ from one issue to the next, but libertarians are united as it pertains to the big picture. FREEDOM!!! REAL FREEDOM!!!Sean "KaptinKannabis" Morleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04390202785620774335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33937249.post-1167533791225991072006-12-30T19:56:00.000-07:002006-12-30T19:56:00.000-07:00I Don't Know!. This is just another example ...Sean, you're right. This is just another example of personal freedoms being compromised by a government that thinks it knows what's best for citizens.

In response to kevin, this is significantly different than what smokers are facing. Insurance companies don't have the power of the law to enforce what they do. Smokers engage in a legal activity by choice that has consequences for health insurance coverage. This, on the other hand, is a ban by a municipal government that can cite and/or close restaurants that don't abide by the ban. Big difference.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33937249.post-1167416107188981062006-12-29T11:15:00.000-07:002006-12-29T11:15:00.000-07:00How come an intelligent, politically minded Canadi...How come an intelligent, politically minded Canadian such as yourself, is only commenting on U.S. politics and inequities?Big Daddy Donniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17651251264086103418noreply@blogger.com
