Hmmm... TANSTAAFL theory will come to fruition and socialism will finally bite us in the butt. I guess the "old folks" will just have to work. Thanks for signing me up to take care of you, but no thanks. Oh, wait, I'm being coerced into doing it anyway... gah!
social security would fine and healthy if only the presidents would not dip into the funds to support their agendas...there should be a law that no dipping into social security funds...but only for the purpose for which it was created...the retirement of the people!
The only way that SS would be "right" if it people were able to opt-out of it. When the government makes you do something "for your own good", it takes freedom away from you. If it was voluntary, I'd have no problem with it. I still wouldn't do it, however, because my money would do much better in the market, but oh well.
Oh, and government is inherently wasteful. There was almost exactly 0% chance of the SS experiment turning out "the way it was meant to be".
Gee, and who was it who supported you, supplied you with college and fun money. Who paid for your first apartment, who helped with your utilities until you could get on your feet. Who took you in and paid your bills when you lost your job and couldnt make your credit card payments. WHO??
US. the old ones. we have been paying your way all our lives. So wake up you selfish, spoiled, self-centered "wastes of my time and life", and realize that you will not stay 25, or 35 or 55, you will get old. Remember, what goes around comes around.
I'm really sorry that you got swindled into this socialist dream. I really am. But it's time to man up and take personal responsibility for that mistake.
I plan on working until I die. If I can't I had better well set back some money. (Which I am working on) If not, maybe I can give MY kids (three of em) a Country back where they can be truly prosperous and they might have pity on me and help dear old Dad out.
I fully expect to support my wife's parents (the people that loved and helped me, not you). That's perfectly acceptable to me. I'll do it without whining about it. I'll do it out of love.
What I don't' want to do is support some wino uncle who's too lazy to work.
What I don't expect is for someone I don't' even know to be COERCED into providing for ME. THAT is selfish.
